How the tier system works
Chinese characters are grouped by how often they appear in everyday text. Tone Review works through these frequency tiers in order — master the most common characters first, then unlock the next tier. Each tier contains all characters up to that rank, so Tier 500 includes everything in Tier 100.

→Unlocking: master all characters in the current tier to unlock the next one. A character is mastered after 2 correct answers in a row; FSRS spaces those appearances over time.
→Due vs New: Due cards are ones you've seen before and are scheduled for review. New cards are characters you haven't been tested on yet in the current tier.
→Keyboard shortcuts: press 1 2 3 4 to answer. The next character loads automatically after the result flash.
