Does the Japanese popup work on every website?
No. The desktop extension needs normal selectable Japanese text on a supported page. Protected, image-based, canvas, or unusually structured content may not work.
Is Japanese word lookup free?
Yes. Basic lookup is free. Saving new words requires a paid plan, while previously saved words remain reviewable on Free; check current plan details before subscribing.
Can I use this extension on a phone?
The webpage-hover extension is for supported desktop Chromium browsers. The Rolko web app has separate mobile reading and vocabulary workflows.
Can Rolko read Japanese text inside manga images?
No. Rolko does not currently extract text from images or video pixels. The popup works with supported selectable webpage text.
